The Governance & Public Policy Program is CID’s research and knowledge platform dedicated to strengthening evidence-informed public understanding, democratic governance, and constructive policy engagement in Cambodia. Through research programs, policy analysis, governance studies, and civic space analysis, the program examines social, political, digital, and institutional developments shaping public life and democratic culture. CID seeks to contribute independent knowledge, accessible analysis, and informed public discussion that support critical reflection, civic learning, and responsible engagement among citizens, researchers, policymakers, civil society actors, and development partners. The program also explores emerging issues related to governance, leadership, digital transformation, public participation, and democratic resilience in a rapidly changing national and global environment.

Research Programs

CID conducts research programs on governance, democracy, civic participation, leadership, digital society, human rights, and public affairs to strengthen evidence-informed understanding and contribute independent knowledge to public discussion and policy engagement.

Policy Analysis

The Policy Analysis component provides accessible and evidence-based analysis of public policies, governance reforms, social issues, and emerging challenges affecting Cambodia and the wider region. CID seeks to encourage informed dialogue and constructive policy reflection.

Governance Studies

CID’s Governance Studies examine issues related to democratic governance, public institutions, accountability, leadership, civic participation, rule of law, and institutional development in order to strengthen public understanding and civic engagement.

Civic Space Analysis

The Civic Space Analysis component explores trends, opportunities, and challenges related to civic participation, public dialogue, freedom of expression, digital engagement, and the broader environment for civic and democratic engagement in Cambodia.
