The Digital Democracy & Civic Technology Lab is CID’s platform for promoting responsible and informed civic engagement in the digital age. The Lab focuses on AI literacy, digital citizenship, media literacy, online civic participation, digital governance, and digital security to help citizens better understand the opportunities and challenges created by emerging technologies and digital transformation. Through research, public education, dialogues, training programs, and digital learning initiatives, the Lab encourages critical thinking, ethical technology use, information resilience, and responsible online engagement. CID believes that democratic resilience increasingly depends on citizens’ ability to navigate digital environments thoughtfully, participate constructively online, and engage responsibly in rapidly evolving information and technological ecosystems.

The AI Literacy component promotes public understanding of artificial intelligence and its growing impact on society, governance, communication, education, work, and democratic participation. CID encourages informed and ethical engagement with emerging technologies and AI-driven systems.
