CID Showcases Human Rights Education and Governance Advocacy at AFPC 2025 in Jakarta
On 4–5 October 2025, the Cambodian Institute for Democracy (CID) joined the ASEAN for the People’s Conference (AFPC) in Jakarta, Indonesia, under the theme “Harnessing Southeast Asia’s Greatest Resources.” The regional gathering convened civil society organizations (CSOs) from across Southeast Asia to exchange experiences, strengthen collaboration, and advance shared democratic values.
Our Program Coordinator, Bunheng Hoeum, represented CID and contributed as a discussant in two key sessions:
-
Good Governance: How Civil Societies Can Help Ensure Clean and Competent Government and Fight Corruption
-
The Imperative of Rule of Law for Political, Economic, and Social Development
CID also showcased its flagship Human Rights Quiz, engaging over 100 participants through interactive multiple-choice and true/false questions—part of our ongoing mission to promote human rights awareness and civic education in Cambodia.
We extend our gratitude to the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) for recognizing CID’s work and providing this meaningful platform to connect and collaborate with regional partners for democracy, rule of law, and good governance in Southeast Asia.
