World Press Freedom Day 2025 Conference
On May 2, 2025 – Our President Chanroeun Pa attended a significant conference celebrating World Press Freedom Day 2025. The event was organized by a working group of civil society organizations dedicated to promoting press freedom and human rights in Cambodia. The conference served as a vital platform to discuss the current state of media independence in the country, addressing critical issues such as existing restrictions and challenges related to media funding.
Bringing together a diverse group of over 100 participants, the event was attended by journalists, representatives from the diplomatic community in Cambodia, fellow civil society organizations, development partners, and media rights advocates.
As a fundamental principle, press freedom remains a crucial pillar of any democratic society. CID recognizes the vital role of independent media in fostering transparency and accountability.
